International law firm Wotton Kearney has created a new chief technology and AI officer role to drive its digital transformation strategy, appointing a senior technology and advisory partner to the inaugural position.
Senior technology and advisory partner Iain McGuire (pictured) has been named Wotton Kearney’s first chief technology and AI officer.
The international law firm expressed that creating this inaugural role reflects its strategic focus and continued investment in emerging technology and innovation, aimed at strengthening the firm’s overall technological capability.
With the introduction of the new position, Wotton Kearney’s technology, artificial intelligence and transformation teams are now set to operate under a single, unified strategy.
Before joining the firm, McGuire held senior roles at global technology services company Cognizant, where he served as managing partner and vice president across the Asia-Pacific region.
In this new role, McGuire will be responsible for accelerating the integration of AI across the business, further embedding technology into legal and advisory services, and helping clients navigate emerging risks through the firm’s advisory practice.
David Kearney, chief executive partner at Wotton Kearney, shared how McGuire’s appointment reflects the firm’s push into digital transformation and innovation, aiming to streamline operations, enhance client service, and more tightly integrate its legal, advisory and technology capabilities into seamless, end-to-end solutions.
“We’re fully committed to investing in digital transformation, optimising our IT systems, and fostering innovation to enhance our operational efficiency and improve client service delivery,” Kearney said.
“Iain’s appointment also strengthens our ability to bring together legal, advisory and technology capability – delivering more integrated, end-to-end solutions for our clients.”
“This is a natural next step following the launch of WK Advisory and reinforces our commitment to investing in platforms to support both our people and clients in an increasingly complex digital environment.”
Speaking about his new role, McGuire expressed that he is excited to play a key role in driving the firm’s digital transformation and shaping its next phase of evolution.
“Wotton Kearney is at a pivotal point in its evolution,” McGuire said.
“I’m genuinely excited to play a key role in championing cutting-edge solutions to drive our digital transformation, and shaping the future of Wotton Kearney’s new advisory practice.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity to help redefine how we support our people and clients in today’s rapidly evolving technology landscape.”
