Corrs takes projects partner from Ashurst

A projects partner has been added to Corrs Chambers Westgarth’s Sydney office.

Bree Miechel, a project development, energy, and construction specialist, has joined Corrs Chambers Westgarth.

Prior to this, Miechel served as a partner at Ashurst starting in 2020.

 
 

Commenting on the appointment, Corrs senior partner and CEO Gavin MacLaren said: “Bree has significant experience working on energy transition and renewable matters in Australia and across the region.

“We are delighted to welcome Bree to the partnership.”

Miechel has been highly regarded for her extensive experience advising sponsors, procuring authorities, lenders, contractors, vendors, and investors on the commercial contracting aspects of major energy and infrastructure projects.

She has advised on the full project lifestyle, including concession and project agreements, EPC and construction arrangements, operations and maintenance agreements, investment agreements, offtake and revenue arrangements, and supply agreements.

Her practice has taken her throughout Australia and overseas.

Miechel is currently a council member of the International Project Finance Association and has held similar positions with international organisations, including the International Renewable Energy Agency, Women in Energy Asia, and the Society of Construction Law Singapore.
