Norton Rose Fulbright’s (NRF) new partner, Daniel Lin, has extensive experience in energy, infrastructure and general corporate transactions across Japan, south-east Asia, America, and Europe.

His clients include utilities, trading companies, and infrastructure investors, as well as general corporates and financial institutions.

Commenting on his appointment, NRF’s global managing partner and managing partner of Europe, Middle East and Asia-Pacific (EMEAPAC), Peter Scott, said growth across the Asia-Pacific region is a priority for NRF following the firm’s global integration last year.

“We are therefore delighted to have Daniel join us, with his long history of advising clients on energy and infrastructure projects in Asia-Pacific and his strong knowledge of Japan outbound M&A and financing matters,” Scott said.

“To be based in Sydney but continuing to work throughout the region, Daniel will be a tremendous addition to our Australian and broader EMEAPAC offering to clients.”

Lin joins NRF from global US firm Sidley, where he was co-managing partner of the Tokyo office.

His advice centres on development, funding, acquisition and disposal of energy and infrastructure assets, including infrastructure, conventional power and renewable energy assets.

Lin has extensive experience advising lenders financing the development and acquisition of these projects, as well as parties engaged in Japan outbound and inbound investments.

Lin said he was excited to be joining NRF.

“The firm’s full-service global offering across all energy and infrastructure markets – particularly across Asia, Australia, Europe, the Middle East and the US – was a major drawcard, and I look forward to collaborating with the firm’s partners across borders for the benefit of our clients,” Lin said.
