Piper Alderman has promoted 27 professionals across the firm, with the appointments taking effect from 1 July 2026 as they step into their new roles.

As part of its latest promotion round, the national law firm has elevated three lawyers to partner, alongside three special counsel, 11 senior associates, eight associates, and two business services appointments.

The new partners include Lauren Abbott (real estate, Brisbane), Luke Bone (dispute resolution and litigation, Perth), and Travis Shueard (commercial and intellectual property, Adelaide).

The elevation of the three lawyers to partnership has taken the firm’s total number of partners to 86.

Having been with the firm for more than seven years, Lauren Abbott brings extensive experience in the real estate practice area, with deep expertise in major property transactions.

Her work has focused on acquisitions, divestments, and large-scale developments across the commercial, industrial, retail, and social infrastructure sectors, as well as complex leasing arrangements for national clients.

Since joining the firm four years ago, Travis Shueard has been described as “rising quickly” through the ranks, building a strong reputation within the firm’s intellectual property practice.

His work focuses on disputes involving trademarks, patents, copyright and design rights, alongside advisory matters relating to emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence.

James Macdonald, managing partner of Piper Alderman, shared that the promotions highlight the depth of talent across the firm and its continued commitment to developing the next generation of leaders.

“We are pleased to welcome Lauren, Luke, and Travis to our partnership. Each has demonstrated outstanding legal expertise, drive and meaningful impact for their clients, their teams, and the firm,” Macdonald said.

“We also congratulate all those listed below who have been promoted, whose hard work and commitment to excellence strengthen our firm and reflect the depth of capability we continue to build at Piper Alderman.”
