Slater and Gordon has promoted 63 lawyers and support staff across Australia, which the BigLaw firm said strengthens its mission to open up access to justice for more people.

The promotions span the firm’s class actions and land rights, abuse law, asbestos and dust disease, medical law, industrial and employment law, personal injury, military compensation, motor vehicle accident compensation, public liability, superannuation and disability insurance, workers’ compensation, and work and road claims practice areas, as well as in its professional standards and risk, operational excellence teams.

The firm’s chief executive, Dina Tutungi, said the promotions reflect the depth of talent across the law firm and its continued investment in people: “No one comes to Slater and Gordon on a good day. Our clients come to us after serious injury, loss, abuse of power, or institutional failure. These promotions recognise colleagues who stand up with clients at their most difficult moments and help secure the justice they deserve.”

“Our organisation was founded out of a union office and, for almost a century, we have used the law as a tool to rebalance power. The people we are promoting this year are part of that legacy. They are formidable advocates who use their craft, compassion, courage, and grit to open up access to justice for workers, families, and communities across the country.

“We are always evolving so we can better meet our clients’ needs, but our DNA stays the same. By investing in our people and how we work, we strengthen our ability to open up access to justice for more people.”
