The firm has also promoted three to senior associate, seven associates, two law clerks, and five in operational roles.

The new partners are private enterprise practitioner Sarah Judge and family and relationships lawyer Damon Hatchett.

Judge, who joined as a graduate in 2017, has built a reputation for providing leading advice across corporate and commercial matters.

Managing partner Luke Mountford said: “Sarah’s progression from vacation clerk [in 2015] to partner is a testament to her unwavering drive and leadership she has built both across the firm and with clients.

“She embodies HopgoodGanim’s dedication to excellence and the collaborative, high-performing culture we are proud of.”

Hatchett joined as a solicitor in 2020 and has since shown immense commitment to navigating complex family law matters.

Geoff Wilson, partner in the family and relationships practice, said Hatchett has “consistently showcased technical excellence, integrity, and a genuine commitment to achieving the best outcomes possible”.

“His promotion to partner reflects both his impact on his clients and contribution to the firm,” Wilson said.

The new special counsel are Elliott Baldwin and Matthew Biles from commercial property, and Penny Brown from insurance.

HopgoodGanim also promoted pro bono’s Deni Jokovic-Wroe, litigation’s Phoebe Kenafake, and the resources and energy practice’s Sophie Maitland to senior associates.

The promoted associates are Bryce Thompson from insurance, Declan Stack from corporate and M&A, Joel Beveridge from workplace and employment, Lynsey Donaldson from planning and environment, Mitchell Papas and Nikieta Carleton from litigation, and Sandra Tran from commercial property.

“This year’s promotions speak to the exceptional calibre of our team and reinforce the depth of leadership we are building for the future,” Mountford said.

“Their success reflects our continued focus on developing the next generation of leaders at HopgoodGanim, and we look forward to supporting their ongoing achievements.”
