Allens Arthur Robinson has followed hot on the heels of Freehills in acting for the building supplies conglomerate CSR as its demerger continues apace.

Allens advised CSR on the sale of its Asian insulation, panels and trading business to the Rockwool Group.

Campbell Davidson, Allens head of greater China M&A, said that lawyers from five of the firm's Asian offices were involved in the deal.

Baker & McKenzie and the Singaporean firm Wong & Leow were also involved in the transaction.

Just this week, CSR sold its sugar and renewable energy business for $1.75 billion. Freehills acted for CSR on that transaction, following up on its representation of CSR with regard to a successful appeal to a full-bench of the Federal Court in April that overturned a previous decision to ban the proposed demerger.
