Chang, Pistilli & Simmons (CP&S) has acted for Mosaic Oil NL in relation to its proposed $130 million acquisition by AGL Energy Limited, advised by Allens Arthur Robinson.

The transaction is set to be implemented by way of a scheme of arrangement involving cash and a scrip alternative.

CP&S co-head of energy & resources Jason Mendens said: "This announced deal was challenging on a number of fronts. Not only was it undertaken in a very tight time frame, it also involves a range of energy assets in Australia and New Zealand.

"Notwithstanding all parties' efforts to date, the work really has only just begun, with a scheme implementation timetable from now until mid-October."

The CP&S team was led by partners Jason Mendens and Mark Pistilli and included Liz Humphry, David Mullan and Nicola Garland.

The Allens team was led by Guy Alexander and David Maloney.
