Corrs Chambers Westgarth has advised Vodafone Hutchison Australia (VHA) on their multimillion dollar contract with Ericsson to upgrade their microwave and optical fibre links.

Under the contract, Ericsson will supply, roll out and integrate their products into VHA mobile stations, with the aim of increasing transmission speeds on VHA's mobile network.

According to Corrs, the deal will allow VHA to increase their network capacity and end-user speeds at a fraction of the cost of more dated backhaul technologies.

Corrs advised VHA on all aspects of the contract's tender process, including drafting the contract and negotiations with Ericsson.

The team was lead by partner James North with senior associate Warwick Andersen and lawyer So Yoen Um.
