Mallesons Stephen Jaques has acted for the Merivale group on the refinancing of its entire business operations, which closed today (30 July 2010).

The Merivale group is the Hemmes family business which owns numerous hotels and restaurants, including Sydney's The IVY and Establishment.

The Mallesons team was led by banking and finance partner Richard Hayes, who was assisted by solicitor Elizabeth Hundt Russel.

The banks involved in the refinancing are CBA and St George, represented by Gadens partner Mark Skinner and senior associate Sarsha Housham.

Richard Hayes said: "This was an interesting deal as it demonstrated the banks' willingness to continue to support one of Sydney's leading hospitality businesses."
