Gilbert + Tobin and Baker & McKenzie have helped with the privatisation of the NSW waste management service.

Gilbert + Tobin acted for NSW Treasury on the $235 million sale of its waste management business WSN Environmental Solutions to SITA Environmental Solutions (SITA), a joint venture between French and Singaporean companies.

"As state governments continue to look at ways to improve efficiency and reduce debt, privatisations have played a key role," Gilbert + Tobin corporate advisory partner Bryan Pointon said. "We are pleased to have worked with the NSW Treasury on the implementation of the transfer of WSN to SITA."

Pointon led the G+T team that included real estate and projects partner Amanda Hempel and competition and regulation partner Luke Woodward.

Melbourne based finance and banking partner Kenneth Gray and global energy and resources partner Samantha Siebel led the Bakers team that advised SITA.
