Blake Dawson has advised in the expansion of TRUenergy's renewable energy portfolio in an acquisition worth $156.7 million.

TRUenergy acquired ownership of the Waterloo wind farm and a 50% share of the Cathedral Rocks wind farm from Roaring 40s Renewable Energy Pty Ltd, expanding its portfolio by 144MW.

The deal follows the disaggregation of Roaring 40s, a wind energy development joint venture established six years ago by Hydro Tasmania and TRUenergy's parent company, the CLP Group.

Peter Stirling was the lead partner in the transaction supported by Claie Hannon and Pheobe Berridge. Hydro Tasmania and Roaring 40s were adisied by Page Seager.

Approval for the transaction was obtained from the Foreign Investment Review Board, the shareholding Tasmanian government ministers and the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC)

"Securing these key wind energy assets and the skilled staff to manage them will establish TRUenergy as a major wind energy developer in Australia," said Ross Edwards, TRUenergy's General Manager.
