Mallesons and Freehills have acted in a $200 million acquisition to secure a gas supply from Victoria to Tasmania.

Mallesons acted for Palisade Investment Partners which acquired Tasmanian Gas Pipeline Pty Ltd (TGP) and the debt financing aspects of the acquisition.

Palisade acquired all of the issued shares in TGP through both equity and debt funding from a syndicate of lenders.

M&A partner Adrian Perkins finance partner Scott Gardiner led the Mallesons team.

The TGP is the transmission pipeline which transports gas from Longford in Victoria, Australia to Tasmania. The 734km long pipeline was commissioned in 2002 and is the only supply pipeline of natural gas to Tasmania.

Freehills acted for Australian Energy Transmission & Distribution and their advisers Brookfield Infrastructure Partners.
