Clayton Utz's national capital markets team has acted on four separate raisings launched this month.

National equity capital markets practice head Stuart Byrne said the transactions reflected the diversity of work currently in the market, including local and foreign raisings, raisings to pay down debt, and raisings for acquisitions or capital management.

"While choppy markets certainly affect prices and put pressure on issuers to get the timing right, there has been more activity this quarter than we were expecting," he said.

The raisings launched this month include Woolworths Limited's $500 million offer of subordinated notes; Super Retail Group's $334 million PAITREO entitlement offer; Origin Energy Limited's $US500 million ($482 million) issue of 144A senior unsecured notes; and Coffey International Limited's $40 million entitlement.
