One question many lawyers ask when considering a move into a in-house role, is what sort of salary packaging benefits are available for in-house lawyers. Our experts take a look at what's on offer.

There are a wide range of benefits on top of base salary that are potentially available to in-house lawyers. Some of the more regular items in corporate salary packages include technological devices which enable corporate lawyers to do their job, such as mobile phones, BlackBerries and laptops.

Motor vehicles and car parking are also relatively common elements, particularly for senior roles.

Other benefits can be more unusual but are becoming increasingly favoured by corporate lawyers.

These include payment for additional study, additional leave without pay, reduced working days per week, the option to work from home, gym membership, subsidised meals and health insurance benefits.

As long as the benefits offered are consistent with the company's performance and financial position and cater to the individual's needs, the result should generate a higher level of engagement from in-house lawyers with the organisation.
