Nick Finlayson (pictured) has been welcomed to the role of partner, responsible for heading up KPMG’s real estate legal practice, based in the firm’s new Barangaroo office.
Mr Finlayson joins KPMG Law from Bird & Bird, where he was a partner in the firm’s international real estate group.
Throughout his career, Mr Finlayson has acted for a range of leading domestic and international companies.
He brings to his new role significant expertise in advising foreign companies that have chosen to invest in Australia.
KPMG Law national partner in charge, David Morris, welcomed the appointment of Mr Finlayson, saying he will be a great value-add to the firm.
“We are delighted that Nick has joined us,” Mr Morris said.
“He will bring extensive real estate law experience to our growing team, particularly in the areas of sales and acquisitions, development, design and construction and leasing.
“Nick will work closely with the broader KPMG real estate practice and through this integrated approach we will be able to deliver an end-to-end real estate offering to our clients.”

Emma Musgrave (née Ryan) is the managing editor, professional services at Momentum Media.
Emma has worked for Momentum Media since 2015, including five years spent as the editor of the company's legal brand - Lawyers Weekly. Throughout her time at Momentum, she has been responsible for breaking some of the biggest stories in corporate Australia. In addition, she has produced exclusive multimedia and event content related to the company's respective brands and audiences.
Prior to joining Momentum Media, Emma worked in breakfast radio, delivering news to the Central West region of NSW, before taking on a radio journalist role at Southern Cross Austereo, based in Townsville, North Queensland.
She holds a Bachelor of Communications (Journalism) degree from Charles Sturt University.
