SPECIAL COUNSEL Michael Perkins has joined Cutler Hughes & Harris’ tax group, with Paul Vergotis joining the planning and environment division as senior associate.

Perkins has over 20 years’ experience in trusts and estates structuring and planning. He joins Cutlers with the aim of developing a strategic advisory practice to bring a multi-disciplinary approach to the challenges faced by business entities, including shareholder advice and business succession planning. Previously of Cropper Parkhill, Perkins earlier ran his own firm for more than 15 years.

Having worked for 17 years as a senior officer with a large local council, Paul Vergotis has also gained six years’ experience in planning and environment law. He has acted for local councils on matters including development application appeals and environmental regulation. Vergotis also has a detailed understanding of contaminated land management issues and site construction management controls involving environmental auditing and due diligence programs.

“This is a growth phase for Cutlers and we are delighted to welcome two highly experienced practitioners to the firm,” said executive partner Tom Boyce.
