The Perth office of Minter Ellison has appointed a new managing partner, with John Poulsen taking over from Sean Larkan.

Poulsen heads the finance division in Western Australia and is recognised as a leading finance lawyer, with a client-base that includes Westpac, CBA, Macquarie Bank, ANZ, St George and Rabobank.

A member of the Minter Ellison board for more than 10 years, John is also president of CEDA (Committee for Economic Development of Australia) in Western Australia, and a member of CEDA’s national board. He will continue to practise during his term as managing partner.

The firm paid tribute to Larkan’s contribution over seven years at the helm of the Perth office, which was a period of significant growth for the firm in Western Australia. Prior to joining Minter Ellison, Larkan had been managing partner of Bell Gully in New Zealand and managing partner of Werksmans Attorneys in South Africa. He leaves the firm to establish a business consulting practice, focusing on servicing professional services firms on the east coast of Australia.
