Stephen Kemp will be joining Jackson McDonald as a new partner, bringing with him extensive experience in industrial relations and employment law in Western Australia, an area in which he will continue to practise. He joins the firm after running his own practice, Stephen Kemp: IR and Employment Lawyers, since 1999.

Both Victoria Butler and Greg Wheatley have been promoted to partner from within the firm. Butler practises in commercial litigation, primarily in banking and insolvency, but with experience in all areas of commercial litigation. A member of Jackson McDonald’s corporate/commercial team, Wheatley provides broad corporate and commercial advice with an emphasis on corporate transactions and finance.
Miriam Power, Liz Tylich (nee Forte) and Fiona Dempster have been promoted to senior associate. Power practises in the area of commercial litigation, industrial relations litigation and defamation. Focussing on corporate transactions and corporate advisory work, Tylich works in the corporate/commercial area. Practising in the area of insurance litigation, Dempster specialises in workers’ compensation, public liability and product liability.
Jackson McDonald has also appointed Joel Sheldrick, John Louden and Rob Marando to associate. Sheldrick practises in the area of insurance law with a focus on workers’ compensation, employers’ indemnity and public liability claims. With experience in energy and resources, and insurance, Louden works in commercial litigation, primarily in the areas of banking and insolvency. Marando practises in insurance law in the areas of public liability, workers’ compensation, fatal accidents, professional indemnity and maritime.
