Firm Sparke Helmore announced the appointment of six new partners, one special counsel and eight senior associates, following a year marked by substantial growth and key client acquisition.

Boosting Sparke Helmore’s partnership ranks are Colin Webeck in the government division, Philip Keays in professional indemnity/professional liability, and John Wallace, Matthew Smith, Greg McCann and Janice Nand in the workplace relations, safety and environment team.

Joanne Palamara has been appointed special counsel in the firm’s compensation division, while senior associatesannounced were Richard Suters (government), Kylie Watts (energy and resources), Nigel Kemp (professional indemnity/general liability), Renae Harding and Joanne Flitcroft (workplace relations, safety and environment), and Nick Brennan, Lydia Demetrios and Shelley Johnson (compensation).

National Managing Partner John Davis commented: “Strong growth across industry sectors, practice areas and offices positions the firm well for the year ahead. Characteristic of our success this year has been successful conversion of strategic corporate advisory opportunities, including appointment to the St George Bank legal panel and advice to the Commonwealth in relation to T3 and the Cole Inquiry.”
