Michael Seck, a ‘Young Gun’ finalist in last year’s Fuji Xerox Law Awards, was appointed special counsel in the Sydney office of specialist workplace relations, corporate and commercial law firm Australian Business Lawyers. Seck, who joined the firm in 2003 after working as a senior associate with Blake Dawson Waldron, has 10 years’ experience as an industrial relations and employment lawyer. In a current case before the High Court, Seck is advising and representing CSL following an application by maritime unions to extend Australian award conditions to Ukrainian crews employed by foreign employers on ships registered in the Bahamas. The case involves novel issues under international, maritime and industrial relations law.
