Dibbs Abbott Stillman has appointed a partner and three senior associates. Kim Bradey has joined as a partner in the the firm’s Melbourne office. Formerly a partner at Hunt & Hunt she brings to the firm 13 years experience in insurance law, personal injuries law and asbestos-related claims. David Richardson and David Fell have been promoted to senior associate with the firm’s corporate services group in Brisbane. Richardson’s experience involves a wide range of commercial matters including large-scale business and property acquisitions, development of joint ventures for research and commercialisation and licensing broadcasting technology to major overseas media companies. Fell has experience in a number of specialty areas including aviation, corporate advisory, franchising and intellectual property. Roy Groom has been promoted to a senior associate working in the firm’s construction and development practice. His experience includes construction and development disputes, corporate regulatory issues, insolvency and bankruptcy, and general commercial disputes.
McInnes Wilson Lawyers has appointed two new partners. Andrew Tobin joins the firm as workplace relations partner. He specialises in all aspects of workplace relations law, including enterprise bargaining and common law work agreements, award interpretation, occupational health and safety, discrimination law, industrial and employment disputes. He was previously a special counsel at Deacons. Glenn Caligaris joins McInnes Wilson as a partner in its commercial litigation team. He has more than 10 years experience in commercial litigation, insolvency, intellectual property litigation and debt recovery.
Minter Ellison’s Perth office has appointed Duncan Maclean to partnership in the firm’s energy and resources group. Previously a partner of Cridlands, one of the Northern Territory’s largest law firms, Maclean joined Minter Ellison in 2004 as a senior associate and services corporate clients in the energy and resources sector, handling significant transactions in South East Asia, mainland China and Japan.
Piper Alderman has welcomed Craig Wappett as partner in its corporate team in Brisbane. Previously a partner at Mallesons Stephen Jaques, he practises in corporate property, project and structured finance, financial regulation and insolvency.
Gadens Lawyers’ Sydney office has appointed two new partners. Corporate finance specialist Sean Rush has returned to the firm after practising overseas with Baker & McKenzie. Tim Sherrard has come up the ranks in the firm’s insolvency litigation team, and has developed a specialty in security enforcement and litigation.
Voitin Walker Davis Lawyers has appointed Adam Cooke as an associate. He has been with the firm for two and a half years and has considerable experience in commercial law.
Theresa Spence has returned to Hammond Worthington as an associate in the firm’s expanding family law section after 18 months travelling around Australia with her family.
