Freehills appointed three new partners effective 1 January 2005. They are James Crowe (corporate, Melbourne), Erin Padarin (banking & finance, Sydney) and David Sinn (projects/property, Melbourne).
Blake Dawson Waldron has appointed two new corporate partners, Robert (Bob) Seidler and Michael Ryland. They were formerly principals in The Seidler Law Firm. Blakes said both would help develop a first-tier institutional real estate practice across the corporate, property and financial services teams and enhance the firm’s ability to represent Australian clients in Asia. Seidler will focus on commercial transactions, including mergers, acquisitions and major real estate transactions, especially in the commercial and institutional property sector. Ryland will focus on structured financing, corporate restructuring and international joint ventures. He previously spent two years as Commissioner of the Australian Law Reform Commission and is currently a Visiting Fellow of the Macquarie University Applied Finance Centre.
