Piper Alderman has appointment of three new partners, three senior associates and seven associates. New partners are: Tim Coleman (building & construction (Sydney/national), Scott Hay (dispute resolution/insurance (Sydney/national), Drew Squires (property & commercial - Brisbane/national).

Clayton Utz has promoted 11 lawyers to senior associate in its litigation dispute resolution area. They are: Sara Dennis, Richard Hoad, Deborah Polites, Jeremy Slattery, Christian Owen, Enore Panetta, Fiona Boyce, Sharon Burnett, Christina Harris, Lisa Kurian, and Orla McCoy.

Gadens Lawyers has appointed David Skender as partner in the firm’s banking and finance litigation/insolvency practice in Perth.

Phillips Fox has appointed five new partners, and 37 new senior associates, consultants and special counsel. The partners are: Jane Baddeley (commercial property -Melbourne), Louise Hicks (planning, environment & local government - Melbourne), Simon Lusk (insurance & risk management - Sydney), Michael Marshall (planning, environment & local government - Brisbane). Martin McEnierys appointment will take effect from 1 August. He will join the intellectual property & information technology practice in Brisbane.

Hunt & Hunt Lawyers has appointed five new solicitors in their Brisbane office. Charles Sweeney has moved up to Brisbane from Melbourne to join the commercial group. Airoleene Hamilton has joined the family group. Laura Marcantonio has joined the property group and will be working in general property and leasing. Pratibha Shariff and Shalina Najeeb have joined the medical negligence team.

Michael Schwikkard and Alex Lustig have been promoted to partnership at Jackson McDonalds. Previously insurance counsel at the firm, Schwikkard specialises in general insurance litigation, workers’ compensation and product liability. Lustig practises in the areas of workers’ compensation, property damage and public liability claims. Greg Wheatley and Wendy Rowlands have been promoted to senior associate. Wheatley practises in commercial law. Rowlands specialises in workers’ compensation, public liability and property damage claims and marine (personal injury) insurance. Ian Gordon, Eva Lin, Su-Ming Chng and Fiona Dempster have been promoted to associate.
