Bond University has elected Dr Helen Nugent AO as its new chancellor. Nugent will commence the role on 22 May, taking over from Trevor C Rowe AM who has held the position for the maximum six years.
Nugent is currently a director of Macquarie Bank, Origin Energy and Freehills, and the chair of Funds SA and Swiss Re Life & Health (Australia). Her previous experience includes being the director of strategy at Westpac Banking Corporation, a partner at McKinsey & Company and a professor in management and director of the MBA program and the Australian Graduate School of Management at the University of New South Wales.
Among her career achievements, Nugent was awarded an Officer in the Order of Australia in 2004 for her services to business, particularly banking, in the areas of corporate governance, the arts and the community.
