Queensland criminal defence firm Ryan & Bosscher Lawyers has appointed Simon Whaites as the managing solicitor of its Cairns branch.

Whaites, who joined the firm in 2007, has appeared as a solicitor advocate in the Children's, Magistrates, District and Supreme Court jurisdictions.

He has worked with the Legal Aid Queensland Regional Solicitors Program in Gympie and Legal Aid Queensland in Bundaberg.
