Clayton Utz partner Joanne Daniels has left the firm to join Middletons.

Daniels, who specialises in advising major corporations and governments on trade practices and competition matters, will join Middletons' competition and regulatory group as a partner, based in the Melbourne office.

Described as "a remarkably talented lawyer" by head of Middletons' corporate group, Chris Nikou, Daniels has extensive experience in advising and representing clients on merger and acquisition clearances, enforcement investigations by competition regulators, authorisations and court enforceable undertakings.

With a reputation for commercial and strategic advice in complex trade practices matters, Daniels provides advice to major corporations in relation to the consumer protection provisions of the Trade Practices Act 1974 and the proposed Australian consumer law reforms.

Daniels also has significant experience in infrastructure regulation, particularly in the rail, port, gas and electricity industries.
