The Communications and Media Law Association (CAMLA) has appointed Henry Davis York senior associate Peter Mulligan as its new president.

As the new leader of CAMLA, which is the peak industry association for communications/media lawyers and industry bodies such as the Australian Communications and Media Authority, Mulligan will replace Shane Barber who has held the position for the past two years.

As a senior associate at HDY, Mulligan specialises in commercial, communications and technology law for private and public sector clients.

"I am absolutely delighted to be continuing the outstanding work of Shane Barber in the role of president of this premier industry association," Mulligan said.

"It's an exciting time to be practising in this industry with the roll out of the NBN, recent changes announced to the anti-siphoning regime and historic legislative and structural reforms to the telecommunications sector."
