Allion Legal has appointed Simon Rear as a principal in the firm's corporate practice group.

Rear joins Allion from Corrs Chambers Westgarth, where he has worked since his 2009 return from Herbert Smith.

"Simon brings to the firm considerable experience gained from advising on private and public M&A transactions, equity capital markets and general corporate advisory work including takeovers, schemes of arrangement, fundraisings including IPOs and billion-dollar rights issues, and placings," said Allion managing principal Philip Lucas.

"Simon's clients included many major corporate businesses and investment banks and he has acted for both issuers and underwriters."
