Maddocks has this week bolstered its team with two lawyers from the top tier, including Catherine Debreceny from Mallesons Stephen Jaques and Timothy Atkin from Freehills.
A mergers and acquisitions lawyer, Debreceny has joined Maddocks' commercial group as a senior associate after three years at Mallesons.
Prior to Mallesons, Debreceny spent over seven years working in New York with specialist private equity and financing firms, Kirkland & Ellis and Reitler Kailas & Rosenblatt.
"At Maddocks I will be focusing on mergers and acquisitions , private equity and transactional projects as I move towards building a specialised practice aimed at businesses with a scientific bent such as biotech, pharmaceutical, clean technologies and medical device companies," said Debreceny.
Coming from Freehills, Atkin has joined Maddocks' commercial dispute resolution group as special counsel.
During his time at Freehills, Atkin acted for a number of major corporations including the Seven Network in the C7 case as well as the owner of Sydney Airport in a $500 million dispute with the NSW government.
