DLA Piper has appointed technology and telecom lawyer Matthew Glynn as country managing partner in Singapore.

Glynn was based in Singapore for five years prior to joining DLA Piper in 2006 when he led the Middle East IPT practice.

"Singapore is home to some of the regions largest technology and bio technology players [and DLA Piper] is serious about investing in and expanding its operations in Singapore," said Glynn.

Glynn specialises in new market entry work and advises on the commercial and regulatory aspects of IT and telecoms sector transactions, particularly in the Asian, African and Middle Eastern emerging markets.

Glynn takes over from Martin David, who has been managing partner in Singapore since 2008. With 10 years experience advising on major IPT deals across the Asia Pacific Region, he will oversee an office comprising over 50 staff and continue his roles as head of the firm's Asia finance and projects group, energy and water and mining sector and intellectual property & technology team in Asia.
