Sparke Helmore's national executive officer, Stephen Macliver, has been selected as the Secretary-Treasurer of the Public and Professional Interest Division of the International Bar Association (IBA).

Macliver's appointment to the IBA, which has over 40,000 individual members worldwide, including over 200 law societies and bar associations, will see him become one of only nine elected officers that constitute the senior leadership of the IBA.

Macliver is a former global chair of the IBA's Law Firm Management Committee and is a fellow of the College of Law Practice Management.

MacIver joined Sparke Helmore in the new role of national executive officer in February 2010.
