Australia's largest list of commercial barristers, List A Barristers, has appointed commercial litigation lawyer David Andrews as its executive director.

Andrews has almost 30 years experience in commercial litigation, previously being employed as a practice group leader and senior associate at Slater & Gordon.

Andrew's practice at Slaters, in both litigious and non-litigious work, focused on insolvency, insurance, intellectual property, trade practices and general commercial issues.

Prior to joining Slaters in 2007, Andrews was a partner at Robert James Lawyers in Melbourne for three years, and from 1990 to 2005 was a partner at Holding Redlich.

"This is an exciting opportunity to use the skills acquired in practice for the benefit of a brilliant group of barristers. This is a time of great change in our profession, as exemplified by the efforts being made at federal and state level to streamline the litigation process and I look forward to applying my skills to assist our members," said Andrews.

Formed in 1990, List A Barristers is based in Melbourne and comprises a leading commercial set of approximately 100 barristers (of whom 40 are silks) working nationally and internationally.
