DLA Piper has made two new lateral partner appointments and two special counsel appointments in its Brisbane office.

Jim Holding and David Richardson, both from Dibbs Barker in Brisbane, will join the firm's corporate and intellectual property and technology teams, respectively.

These appointments come just weeks after Mark Baker-Jones joined the firm as special counsel for the planning and environment team and Stephen Ross joined as special counsel for the finance and projects team.

Holding has experience working with government and corporate clients on high-level infrastructure and procurement matters across a variety of industries, especially mining, energy and resources. Included in his team is special counsel Peter Burden who has expertise in tax law and corporate structuring.

Richardson has experience advising on all areas of IP and IT law, including technology development, IP protection and exploitation, research collaboration, e-commerce, joint ventures, licensing, distribution and franchising arrangements. He has spent several years as senior in-house counsel for large corporate organisations including BBC Technology in London.
