Makinson & d'Apice has appointed two strata law, building defects and community title specialistsas partners.

Suzie Broome and Beverley Hoskinson-Greenofficially joined the firm's Sydney office on 1 November.

Hoskinson-Green, a Harvard Law graduate, was one of the first female partners at Blake Dawson and a founding partner of Andersen Legal. Prior to joining with Broome in 2004 to establish Suzie Broome & Company, a boutique practice specialising in strata & community title law, Hoskinson-Greenwas also a partner with Atanaskovic Hartnell.

Broome was introduced to legal matters as a senior Commonwealth public servant working in the departments of defence, resources and energy, Attorney General, Special Minister of State and Veterans' Affairs.

With qualifications in international public law, Broome has been involved in government enquiries including the Royal Commission into the Maralinga nuclear tests, the review of resources of the Federal Court of Australia and advising the Government about entitlements for Commonwealth and Allied servicemen.

Both Broome and Hoskinson-Green advise on complex strata law, building defects and community title matters for owners, owners corporations and strata managers and will together leadMakinson & d'Apice'sstrata practice group, working closely with partner David Baker in the building defects practice group.

Other new recruits include Lisbeth Fletcher, Livia Kochanova and Deborah Adair in the firm's strata & community title team.
