The Asia Pacific head of DLA Piper's employment practice has relocated to the firm's Sydney office.
After years spent working in Hong Kong, Pattie Walsh relocated to Sydney on 9 January and will continue to lead the practice across the Asia Pacific, dividing her time between Asia and Australia.
Walsh said the "ever growing links between Australia and Asia" mean clients "increasingly require truly regional support for all of their legal needs".
"Our Sydney office is well placed to form the Australian hub for the employment law needs of our Australian-based clients in the same way that Hong Kong is used as a hub in Asia," said Walsh, adding that she is looking forward to facilitating additional local relationships from her new base.
Walsh has been an employment lawyer since 1992, having practised as both a barrister and a solicitor in England before her admission as a solicitor in Hong Kong. She has a particular focus on multi-jurisdictional work as well as staffing issues arising from M&As and out-sourcing situations.
