HEAD PARTNER OF Gadens Lawyers’ Sydney property group, Steve Healy has been appointed as deputy chairman of Tennis New South Wales.

The appointment was made after an election held at Tennis New South Wales’ annual general meeting last week. As part of his new role, Healy will also join the Council of Tennis Australia, the governing body of tennis in Australia. The appointment is a natural progression for Healy, who started playing tennis aged nine and was Australian junior hardcourt doubles champion in 1977. He attended university in the US on a tennis scholarship and achieved an ATP world ranking in singles and doubles.

He has worked as a volunteer developing tennis in Australia and joined the Player Development Board in Australia to become involved in the administration of the sport at the insistence of John Newcombe. He has managed to balance his career as a property law specialist with his love of the sport, with his two passions recently converging on the sale of Tennis New South Wales’ White City property.
