Sparke Helmore's Port Macquarie office has been acquired by senior associate Mark Stocks.

As of 1 July 2016, the former Sparke Helmore business will be known as Mark Stocks Lawyers.

Its predecessor office, Reid Commercial Law, joined Sparke Helmore Lawyers on 1 September 2014.

Mr Stocks has been with the business since it was first established by David Reid – now a Sparke Helmore partner – in 2008.

Mr Stocks confirmed existing staff would stay with the business and would continue to service a client base of public and private sector clients, primarily in the property, development, construction, healthcare and professional services sectors.

After the transition, Sparke Helmore will continue to have eight offices around Australia, with a NSW footprint in Sydney, Newcastle and the Upper Hunter region.

Mr Reid wished Mr Stocks "every success" in his endeavour.

"I’m delighted Mark has decided to acquire this business," he said.

"I know people in Port Macquarie and the surrounding districts appreciate Mark and his team’s dedication to providing quality legal services to local businesses and the local community."
