The annual Winneke Cup, to be held this Sunday, 28 August, promises to be a massive AFL and netball event.

Minter Ellison, champions at last year’s Victorian legal football event, will face eager contenders including teams from Allens Arthur Robinson, Mallesons Stephen Jaques, Freehills, Blake Dawson Waldron, Phillips Fox, Clayton Utz and Deacons.

Lander & Rogers, who were runners-up in last year’s AFL competition, look like “dangerous” competition.

Blake Dawson Waldron will be looking to retain their championship title in the netball, however runners-up Minter Ellison are expected to provide a stiff challenge. The final for the netball is scheduled for 2:15pm, with the footy final at 3:30pm.

The event will be held at Royal Park, Parkville, on the Ransford and Western Ovals for football and the State Netball and Hockey Centre for netball. The action starts at 10.30am.
