What can I do if my poor academic transcript is not an accurate reflection of my ability?

Many employers require a copy of your academic transcript, so consider what to do if your university grades suggest you are not as bright as you believe.

Firstly, have a "go-between" acting on your behalf (such as a recruiter or ally), as they can speak more convincingly about your circumstances than you can yourself. If you had a situation at university which caused your grades to suffer (such as a family crisis; health issue; or full-time work combined with full-time study) then explain this situation to your go-between. Provide evidence of excelling in post-graduate courses such as a masters degree and access to results of a recognised cognitive assessment with your applications. Finally, a good referee can attest to your brilliance.

And it goes without saying - NEVER make the mistake of fraudulently amending your transcript or lying about your marks. That is the sort of behaviour that results in immediate dismissal.
