FORMER PRIME Minister Bob Hawke turned out to be the highlight of Holding Redlich’s recent birthday bash. Gough Whitlam and wife Margaret looked on as Hawke led the guests in a rendition of Solidarity Forever.

Harry Miller, Peter Redlich, Bob Hawke and Ian Robertson

Firm chairman Peter Redlich (second left) and managing partner Ian Robertson (right) hosted the gathering at lawyers’ favourite, Machiavelli, a source told Lawyers Weekly. Hawke’s song was described as “rousing” and, as this picture shows, a good time was had by all.

The firm was celebrating its 10th year in Sydney, bringing together a selection of Australia’s political heavyweights as well as members of the judiciary.

Other guests included Harry Miller (left), Deloitte’s Matthew Broadfoot, Justice Roger Gyles and Gary Rothwell from James Fielding Funds Management.
