Tim Bednall has resigned as head of mergers and acquisitions at Allens Arthur Robinson, jumping ship to rival firm Mallesons Stephen Jaques.

His departure has prompted the appointment of two co-leaders of the M&A practice group. Ewen Crouch will be joining the Sydney team and Jon Webster will be in Melbourne. Bednall had been running M&A at Allens since December 2001.
