legal professionals were recognised last week at awards ceremonies held in Victoria and New South Wales. The Law Institute of Victoria (LIV) annual awards were held at the LIV on Friday 7 November. A LIV honorary life membership was awarded to David Faram, of Faram Ritchie Davies lawyer, the LIV’s second country president. The President’s Pro Bono Award went to Baker & McKenzie pro bono partner Kenneth Gray for his work with the Peter Mac institute. The Australian Corporate Lawyers Association’s (ACLA) 2008 In-house Lawyer of the Year Awards highlighted some of the nation’s top in-house talent on the close of the first day of the 14th annual National Conference, held on Thursday 6 November. For the full run-down of award recipients from both ceremonies, see page 8.
