Computer Manufacturing giant Dell is set to rationalise its panel of external legal advisers, The Lawyer has reported.

The firm is undertaking a review of its external legal advisers, and aims to draw up a roster of firms that can advise on 12 distinct practice areas - consumer/retail, contract, corporate, data protection, employment, environment, litigation, M&A, public procurement, regulatory, tax and finance.

According to The Lawyer, as Dell's in-house legal team has expanded, each new member has brought on their own favourite firms, meaning the company's panel of external legal providers has become unmanageably large. Tenders for the panel were due to be back with the company last week.
