The head of Freehills’ Perth office, John Atkin, has been snapped up by ANZ Bank.

Atkin will retire from the Freehills partnership effective from 11 July to take up the position of ANZ’s Western Australian State Chairman.

Taking up the reins at Freehills’ Perth office is Jason Ricketts, a partner in the firm’s banking and project team and a member of Freehills’ national board. Ricketts officially took over the role last week.

Atkin has been with Freehills since 1997 when the firm merged with Parker & Parker, where Atkin was managing partner.
