BUCKING INDUSTRY-wide trends, US firms Sidley Austin and Mayer Brown have both asked their associates to start early, rollonfriday.com reports. Mayer Brown has asked 12 New York associates, who had originally been asked to defer their starting date, to begin work this week. Meanwhile, Sidley Austin has asked all its new associates to start a few months early and 22 have agreed to do so.
