So far, the firm has raised money for the pandas by doing everything from selling a cookbook created by firm staff, to having lawyers run the 12 kilometre Adelaide Bay Fun Run wearing a panda suit.

But they are taking their fundraising initiatives to the next level through a rock quiz night, which asks clients to pay $60 a ticket to take part in the quiz, a raffle, and be entertained by the chairman of partners, Michael Hutton, and his cover band "The Dix."

Hutton told Lawyers Weekly that the panda sponsorship has boosted staff morale at the firm by encouraging all employees to get involved in the one unifying goal. "It highlights the point that this is beyond just business. It's a firm-wide effort," he said.

Lynch Meyer has a long-term relationship with the Adelaide Zoo, having carried out pro bono work for the zoo for a number of years, and, consequently, seeing the firm's CEO, Shane Daniell, join the Adelaide Zoo board.

As for Hutton's band, he said that he's been playing guitar since before he "thought about becoming a lawyer" and that music has provided a great creative outlet away from his work.

But although music assisted him financially during his law degree, Hutton notes that it has taken somewhat of a backseat throughout his law career. "We're only performing once a month. When you get to my age, you can't do it every weekend," he said.
