Gilbert + Tobin remains coy on plans to open a Melbourne office, with the firm stating Monday that further information on its future plans could not be provided for another couple of weeks.

Last week, rumours circulated the web via Firm Spy that G+T managing partner Danny Gilbert had given a speech to his staff confirming that the firm would open in Melbourne.

When Lawyers Weekly contacted G+T about the plans, a spokesperson did not deny the rumour of a new office, but could not confirm it either.

The rumoured plans for a new office comes after a BRW report in early October that G+T has implemented a retainer arrangement with Telstra to cover the delivery of extensive legal services - the bulk of which could be carried out in Melbourne.
