Mallesons Stephen Jaques has topped both the Bloomberg and Thomson Reuters mergers and acquisitions league tables for the first quarter of 2010.

 
 

Based on the value of announced Australian and New Zealand deals, Mallesons came in on top in both tables, with the value of deals equalling a total of $US22.7 billion ($24.5 billion) across the two tables.

Freehills was the next highest ranked firm in this category, ranked in 2nd place on the Bloomberg table and 3rd place on the Thomson Reuters table.

Gilbert + Tobin also ranked in the top five firms across both tables, coming in at 3rd and 5th in the Bloomberg and Thomson Reuters tables respectively, while Blake Dawson was ranked 4th in both tables.

Clayton Utz was ranked 5th in the Bloomberg table and Allens Arthur Robinson was ranked 2nd in the Thomson Reuters table.
