The Sydney and North Sydney practices of commercial firm Macpherson + Kelley Lawyers have merged.

As part of the firm's national growth strategy, the staff of the North Sydney practice, formerly M+K Musgrave Peach, will relocate to the Sydney CBD, which will now be known as Macpherson + Kelley Lawyers.

The firm has also expanded its family law capabilities. Joanne Lister, previously from Musgrave Lister Family Lawyers, has merged her practice with M+K and now heads the firm's family law practice in Sydney.

With 20 lawyers now on staff, the M+K Sydney practice has doubled its size in the last 12 months and now offers services in tax, family law, corporate and commercial, litigation, insolvency, property, transport and commodities, employment law and business succession planning. The firm's national presence now includes three offices in Melbourne, Dandenong (Victoria) and Sydney.

In addition to the appointment of Lister, the firm made two other senior appointments, including the appointment of Greg Peach as managing director of the Sydney practice.

"Greg is very well qualified to take up the reigns, having run an excellent operation in North Sydney for 20 years, and for the past two years as our North Sydney managing principal," said national managing director, Damian Paul.

Former Homan Webb partner Tony Gooch was appointed to the team as employment and industrial relations principal. Gooch has over 20 years of experience in employment and industrial relations representing clients in a wide variety of industries including manufacturing, construction, financial services, retail and the property sectors. His appointment takes the firm's employment and industrial relations team to 10 lawyers, including four accredited specialists nationally.
